Jazztime Morgan Farm History

Over the years, we have had the opportunity to share our lives with many wonderful Morgan horses. In an effort to keep their memories and spirits with us, we offer the following retrospective...
	Cassandra Cassie was sired by a registered Appaloosa who was also half Lippizan. Her dam was a 1/2 Morgan (Sunnygirl by Sundust) and out of an Appaloosa mare. One can't find much Appaloosa in her...the prepotency of the Morgan was very apparent. She was an important member of our family for 23 yrs and traveled with us up and down the western US when Mike was transferred with his job.

	Canyonview Nekomia (Tawncrest Kahlua x Hillwinds Candy) foaled 1972 Neko was the trusted trail horse and companion for our daughter, Aili. Sold in 1987 to Steve and LuAnn Johnson, Eagle, ID

	Tawny Ashwood J Palomino, Gelding May 19, 1973-November 18, 2006 Sired by Tawncrest Kahlua (Dyberry Robin x Condo's Black Velvet) and out of the palomino mare, Mon Heir Mindee (Shawalla Shawn by Rockfield x Mon Heir Sundae by Dickie's King). Owner: Diane James, Spokane, WA

Goss Jazztime Party Boy (x Shiloh Bold Command; 2000	Premier Broodmare: Frosty Blue (Mantic Peter Frost x Rapidan Es Mala) Bay Mare June, 1986 - May, 2004 Frosty was first purchased as a 2 yr old as the future show mare for our daughter, Dana. Shown to top ribbons and numerous championships as a junior horse, Dana began showing her winning consistently for the rest of her show ring career in many divisions. From English Pleasure, Park Saddle to Park Harness and Natural Park, this team was brilliant. Frosty had the electricity to capture all eyes in the show ring plus the pedigree, refinement and conformation to become one of our top producers. Dam of Jazztime Indigo Frost (x Shiloh Bold Command; 1994), Jazztime True Magic (x Ultimately Magic; 1996), Jazztime Simply Noted (x DPR Noteability; 1998), Jazztime Party Boy (x Shiloh Bold Command; 2000); Jazztime Blueprint (x Shiloh Bold Command; 2002); Jazztime Society Page (x Shiloh Bold Command; 2002) and her last son, Bluebird Call To Duty (x Shiloh Bold Command; 2004). Sadly, this lovely mare had a fatal complication during the birth of her last foal, but her beauty, charisma and disposition live on in her get. )

	Lady's Cameo Easter Lily (Cameo's Atari x CBYM Lady of Easterstar) Foaled 1989 Dam of RNP Baron Von Bronze, Jazztime Exclusive and Jazztime Miranda. Currently owned by the Clark family of Post Falls, ID and the love of their daughter, Brittany's life.

	Jazztime Centennial Copy (Jazztime Copyright x Jazztime Raptur-Rose x Shiloh Bold Command) foaled 1989 This flashy gelding began his training toward the reining division and was sold as a pleasure mount to Mark McLean, Liberty Lake, WA in 1990.

	Jazztime Brass Commander (Shiloh Bold Command x Jazztime Empress-Ana) foaled 1990. 'Brassy' is currently the prized pleasure Morgan for Christine Mackleit, Spokane Valley, WA

	Jazztime Exclusive (Jazztime King of Hearts x Lady's Cameo Easter Lily) foaled 1999 This lovely bay was purchased before she was born, the only time we were able to test this cross. She is proudly owned by Kelly and Sandy Peterson, Athol, ID.

	R-Quest Forever Love (Jazztime King of Hearts x Futurity Fancy Star)

	Jazztime Blueprint (Shiloh Bold Command x Frosty Blue) April 2002- November 2003 A Rockfield 'lookalike' and full sibling to Jazztime Indigo Frost, Jazztime Party Boy, and Jazztime Society Page, this flashy colt was western in style from tips of his ears to his perfectly matched hind socks. Another tragic loss for our farm due to a complication from a normal castration.

	Jazztime Just A High Note (DPR Noteability x Jazztime Just Chelsea) foaled 2001 Tall, talented and athletic, this mare was purchased as a 2 yr old as a dressage prospect for our veterinarian, Katherine Burnett, DVM, which is a supreme compliment. 'Diva' was started under saddle by Daryl Hopson, Trafalgar, who thought she was one of the most solid minded young mares he'd seen in a long time. Katherine and 'Diva' continue to work toward dressage competition as time allows for a busy veterinarian and equine dentist.

We wish them many years of tri-colors with this beautiful, kind and talented young western pleasure mare. We do have some consolation in that included in our sale of 'Kate' we have retained two viable embryos by the stallion(s) of our choice. We do plan to use these embryos in the spring of 2007 and will be posting further information about this process. Kate was pinned FarWest Jr WP Champion 2006. 	(Scandias Caribbean Blue x Scandias Moonbeam) April 2005- February 2006. This beautiful, kind, filly was destined to be my next western pleasure prospect but that was not to be. January 2007, Strangles was introduced to our farm by a neighbor that failed to notify us of their outbreak across the fence from our young stock. Before the symptoms erupted all five head were in various stages and within three months nine (ranging in age from 1 to 16 yrs) had been treated for weeks in below freezing weather. We thought we were out of the woods when lovely Celeste began to exhibit secondary symptoms and was rushed to Washington State Equine Hospital in Pullman, WA. She was in the rare 1% that developed the internalized version and we could not save her. As devastating as the outbreak was for us, the loss of this filly was traumatic and totally avoidable had the neighbor been somewhat conscientious.

	Shiloh Bold Command x Jazztime Simply Noted) 2005 chestnut gelding His proud new owner is Susie Solomon, Gerber, CA. Susie is a popular dressage trainer and instructor in the Redding, CA area and chose 'Chip' to be her personal mount. He has adjusted quickly to his new surroundings and is beginning light ground work with Susie. Susie's goal is to be able to compete with this beautiful gelding in the dressage competitions at the Morgan shows. Watch for them!
