....We are relocating earlier than we ever thought possible and very soon to be residents in the Desert Hills area north of Phoenix, AZ!!
After listing our North Idaho farm for sale only six weeks ago, we already have a pre-approved buyer (already sold their current home) that wants to move here on April 12th!! Never thought this would be a possibility with the current real estate market. This really pushes us as we have to be ready to move five or six of our horses along with our three Standard Schnauzers.
....Mike and I are packing like crazy and selling furniture, shop and farm equipment like mad. Keeping the tractor and the ATV!! Logistics of the trip are mind-boggling at this point.Check out the about us page for our recent sales!
Horses have arrived safely in AZ, including BC who made the two day trip like a youngster.

....With
unbelievable sadness I must report the loss of a wonderful mare
that we had been leasing. Over the last 36 hours we in
North Idaho have watched the temperatures plummet from the mid
90s to the mid 50s. With this kind of fluctuation all
horsemen keep an eye peeled. All was well yesterday and
into the evening and did feeding at our normal 6:30-7 pm.
Then I did an 8:30 pm walk-thru to find Dream Caribella in stress
with colicky symptoms. Walked her for about 15 min with
no improvement so administered the normal dose of banamine about
9 pm and the walking continued. Bowels continued to function,
but the pain symptoms escalated rapidly and a call was immediately
put in to my vet who was here in 45 min from another call.
As soon as he arrived he administered sedation, worked up vitals,
and palpated for blockage, fecal matter very normal.
No impaction, but she was burning through pain meds too rapidly.
Checked for stomach gasses....no more than normal.
Only diagnosis was a high colon displacement....a surgical case.
While we discussed options of IV hydration and continued pain
medication at his clinic, or a 90 min trailer ride to WSU, it
became obvious that the pain was so intense and pain meds giving
relief for only a short duration that the options were becoming
less feasible. About midnight the very difficult decision
was obvious and she was mercifully laid to rest.
....Cara
gave birth on July 5th to a beautiful bay colt, who will carry
on her legacy. Chance, luckily, has been a very
independent boy since day one, and is handling the loss of his
mother with little stress. Today he is back in his
usual daytime pasture with Twiggy, her colt, Cash (his best
buddy), and Mercy, our yearling filly who also has been a friend
to both colts. He is grazing, drinking water, and calling
infrequently.
....
I feel such sadness to have to report this loss and share this
great pain with Cara's breeder and owner, 'Terry Johnson.
And, condolences to Kathleen DeFazio the breeder of Cara's sire,
Scandia's Carribean Blue and her dam, Scandia's Moonbeam, Kathleen
DeFazio. My heart is broken.

....June
21, 2009 Jazztime Simply Noted (DPR Noteability x Frosty Blue)
presented us with a gorgeous bay colt by Mtn Laurel Maximilion!
This fancy, refined colt has been named Jazztime
Noteable Asset, aka 'Cash'. After a scary episode
of Uterine Torsion which was corrected surgically, we are happy
to have this pretty colt safely on the ground. With
his perfectly matched half socks (two hind and left fore) and
eye-catching star, he will not be one missed in the show rings.
With our retirement, he is sadly offered for sale to a discriminating
show home.
....July
5, 2009 saw the last foal by
Shiloh Bold Command (age 30) arrive at Jazztime. Big,
strong, and very elegant, this new boy is from Dream Caribella
(Scandia's Carribean Blue x Scandia's Moonbeam). An upright,
solid bay in the image of his sire, he is yet to be named.
Photos will be posted soon. With his incredible
foundation pedigree, this colt will be an asset to any breeding
program.

....The
last foal to carry the Jazztime prefix is in the planning stage.
Covergirl has been booked to the softly beautiful 2008 WC 3
yr old Western Pleasure stallion, Fire Run High Noon.
"Lance" brings some interesting new bloodlines into
play and compliments Covergirl perfectly in his conformation.
He is sired by Pondview Tres Bien, a Futurity French Command
son with lines to Noble Command and Tedwin Topic. Dam
lines include Serenity Masterpiece and Dee-Cee Mr Trophy.
Another embryo transfer is in the works for Jazztime's last
foal in 2010.

..
Two exciting foals joined Jazztime in 2008.
Jazztime Mercy Me (Antwyne Zen x Jazztime Indigo Frost).
This elegantly refined solid brown filly is designed for the hunter
pleasure rings!! Easy to be around, Mercy is learning
to cross-tie and clip and is lways mannerly for the farrier.
Mercy is available for purchase.
..
Jazztime
GQ (Treble's Mucho Uno x Bears Covergirl). Two multiple
World Champions provide the beauty, western pleasure genetics,
and an outstanding disposition to this gorgeous young stallion
prospect. "G" is the only colt from this
cross to date. He is not currently for sale as is scheduled
to join the show horses at Trafalgar in 2010.
..
2009
will provide two more outstanding foals to carry the Jazztime
prefix, both due in June. Dream Caribella (Scandia's Carribean
Blue x Scandia's Moonbeam), is in foal to our Shiloh Bold Command.
BC is now 30 years of age!! Not many stallions can boast
the ability to sire foals at the age of 29. We are hoping
that this possible last foal from him will be a filly.
..
The
second foal due is from Jazztime Simply Noted (DPR Noteability
x Frosty Blue). Sired by Mtn Laurel Maximilian (Tug Hill
Commando x UVM Moonlite), this foal has to be drop dead gorgeous.
Filly or colt? Might be available to a qualified show
home.
